KiNA - Kindernotfall App APP
Using the app reduces the workload of emergency services in stressful situations. Life-threatening incorrect dosages or dilution errors are avoided and patient safety increases.
Using the selection wheel, a weight class or age of the patient can be selected, after which the app calculates the dosage of 26 common emergency medications. For selected medications, a dosing aid is available which provides information on how to dilute the medication and shows the volume to be drawn up.
Age-adapted information on normal physiological values and the material required for securing the airway and defibrillation is also available.
Using the Pediatric Glasgow Coma Score and APGAR Score calculator makes it easier to calculate these values correctly. An overview of the pediatric assessment triangle for the initial assessment of sick and injured children is also available.
As part of the growing FOAM (Free Open Access Medical Education) scene, the rescue service FactSheets team follows the philosophy of providing high-quality content on the topic of rescue services and emergency medicine, freely accessible to everyone!
The information on dosage is based on the manufacturer's specifications, the DIVI children's emergency card, the "Recommendations on dosage in pediatric emergency medicine" from the Auf der Bult Children's and Youth Hospital and on the S2k guideline "Medicine safety in children's emergencies".
This app is aimed at personnel involved in the care of pediatric emergency patients (e.g. emergency services personnel, doctors, emergency room staff, fire department officials, etc.).
