Lampung is a unique province because it has a regional language, namely the Lampung language which is accompanied by its own script which is commonly known as the Lampung script. Lampung script is one of the 12 scripts in Indonesia. The Lampung script consists of 20 main characters and 12 child characters.

The Lampung language is broadly divided into two dialects because Lampung has two customs (dua jurai), namely the pepadun custom and the saibatin custom "Sai Bumi Ruwa Jurai" which means two groups of people who inhabit an area.

The Lampung language consists of two dialects, namely the Lampung A dialect and the Lampung O dialect. For the Lampung language, the A / api dialect is generally used by the Saibatin community, while the O / nyow dialect of Lampung language is generally used by the Pepadun community. However, now regional languages ​​have begun to be abandoned and simply ignored.

The rapid development of times and technology is coupled with foreign cultures that continue to enter. Lampung script and language are one of Indonesia's cultural treasures that we must protect and preserve. One way is to make it a Lampung Language Dictionary application that can be accessed by anyone.

The Lampung Language Dictionary was compiled to make it easier for anyone who wants to learn Lampung Language and Script. This Lampung language dictionary can be used by elementary, middle and high school students. Apart from that, teachers can also use this application easily in the teaching process both offline and online.
